Hi all,
I'm recently retired early, and just wanted to see if I was 'in line' with others in similar circumstances regarding grocery expenses. I'm single, rarely eat out, and like to cook. I also strive to keep it as healthy as I can when I cook, though I'll admit to some splurges on occasion.

So with that said, do other single people out there think a grocery bill of about $90 week is very high? (that includes a good amount of beer, and I don't shop at a 'discount' grocer). I think a new German discount grocer is coming nearby soon (Idles or something like that?), so I may be able to cut expenses if the competition helps shave prices....

If that's high, and anyone has any suggestions on how to cut costs, without sacrificing healthy meals, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks for any input!

Howard
