Could I get on your mailing list when you get the 72t info?

I would be happy to but I can not. I owe each client a duty of privacy & confidentiality & as a result, can not disclose who they are much less the fruits of the representation; be it good or bad. Somewhat later in time, every PLR does go to print in a variety of ways; typically within 3 to 6 months after actual issuance of the ruling to the requesting party.

That being said, some prople here on the REHP boards; who may or may not be my particular client(s) are also seeking private letter rulings on §72(t)(2)(a)(iii), (iv) & (v). All three subsections are closely related.

When those individuals receive replies from the Service; they may volunteer the results of their efforts & I would certainly encourage them to do so; however, such a release of information is entirely voluntary on their part; not my part; & I must respect their wishes 1st & foremost.

Lastly, sharing information in this arena is a double edged sword. Good, in that everyone gets to learn where the Service seems to be generally headed on an issue; bad, in that it is very dangerous to rely on this information without seeking out independent competent counsel for oneself & dealing with your own singular set of circumstances.
