Quiet on here...but I only just thought to go looking for this board today.

Recently, at doctor recommendation I did a sleep study. Conclusion, I have Severe Obstructive sleep apena/hypopnea syndrome and Sleep state dysfunction with minimal time spent in stages 3, 4 and REM.

I got the CPAP on Monday, a Respironics REMstar M-Series Pro w/C-Flex and an OptiLife Mask, they were out of humidifiers....but got that yesterday.

So far it has been mixed...but I guess eventually I'll figure out the mask and get comfortable faster. Seems it takes me an hour or so to get that right (and that makes me get out of bed a few times while doing that)...but then I sleep through until morning (about 5-7 hours). Instead of getting up a few times through out the night.

Though I nearly drowned twice last night. I keep the condo cool in the winter time, and really cool at night....actually I prefer it cool all the time when I sleep. I have a hose cover on order....maybe I'll try lowering the humidifier tonight. Though I thought it was great last night (it felt so good on, that I was sure it wasn't working....but nose still got irritated this morning....though it may be that I used dish soap to clean the mask...just got some baby shampoo to try instead).

First two nights, there was no dreaming....which is good considering I normally have weird dreams every night....but last night the dreams came back.

I dreamed that something had woken me up, and that I removed my mask and turned off my CPAP...and then I woke up to find that I hadn't done those things, but that I should...or risk drowning.

The Dreamer.
