Was forced to file BK7 for family medical reasons and business failure at same time in July 99. Discharged 8/99. Since then I've been able to finance used car and have been perfect on payments. Received credit card with 500 limit and have been perfect on paying that. Been perfect on rent and I'm so nervous now I'm shaking as I type ..

Anyhow, I got my Equifax Credit report and Beacon Score today and I'm shocked. Athough my credit has been perfect since the BK, my Beacon score was just 578. When I reviewed the credit report many of the creditors that were included in the BK7 listed themselves as "CHARGED OFF" rather than "INCLUDED IN BANKRUPTCY". Is that their choice? Does that have an even further negative effect on my score? One of my creditors had two accounts listed with different account numbers but same total. I know I only had one account with them.

No accounts are listed under "turned over to a collection agency", however the ones that were listed as "CHARGED OFF" rather than "INCLUDED IN BANKRUPTCY" were listed under deliquent accounts.

Shouldn't everything be listed under "included in bankruptcy"? What can I do to help improve my score? An advice would be appreciated. After two years I'd like to apply for a mortgage loan 8/01 but now I'm scared.
