The 27 y.o. daughter of Sandy Hook's valiant principal who was gunned down in the massacre tweeted on Wednesday at all 14 GOP senators threatening a filibuster of the Senate gun bill. She requested a return phone call. Erica Lafferty said that only Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) responded, leading to a 20-minute phone conversation. “It was really just me asking why he wasn’t doing his job,” Lafferty told MSNBC on Wednesday. “You know, the point of Congress is to debate and to vote. He’s choosing to not do that." Ms. Lafferty asked Cruz, "What would have happened if my mom chose not to do her job on December 14th? Things would have turned out a lot different than they did," she continued. "His response was, pretty much, that the proposed legislation isn’t going to prevent things like Sandy Hook and we need to focus more on penalizing criminals and felons on the aftermath.” Lafferty said she was disappointed she couldn't change Cruz's mind.It always comes down to "aftermaths," doesn't it? We're the unquestioned world leader in Gun Aftermaths. It's never how an ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure. Lafferty's efforts included tweeting a photo of her sister kissing their dead mother, Dawn Hochspring, on the day of her sister's wedding:@SenRandPaul here is a pic of my mom & sister on her wedding day. I don't get one of these at my wedding in July.http://thehill.com/blogs/twitter-room/other-news/293037-daug...
