CT,
Could you explain a bit about what is it that that you have against such things as Faith based initatives and I would suspect such organizations as Pat Robertson's Christian Coalition.
We consider both concepts to be merely politics, and frankly, have never bothered to argue for or against either faith-based initiatives or the Christian Coalition for that reason.
We are theologically critical of Pat Robertson for his Post-Millennial eschatology that strives for and anticipates a "golden age" that will usher in Christian dominion over the world, while at the same time, we are also suspect of George Bush pandering to the "Christian Right" who predominantly hold to the Pre-Millennial view that world history and the Lord's return depends upon entirely upon the circumstances of the nation of Israel.
Neither movement, in our opinion, is interested in theology and preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ, but appear to have other more temporal goals.
(IOW's we are Amillennialists!)
That said, we have no quarrel with Christians being active in government as long as they are faithful to the purposes of God according to His Word . . .which is to save individual souls from sin unto His eternal Kingdom.
