CTKaren,

You wrote, Anyway, no real question, just thought MBNA was more accommodating than Providian-- and I should have become Foolish sooner!

FWIW, I've always had excellent customer service from MBNA. But then, I've always held a Gold/Platinum card with them and more recently I've held their Quantum card. It's possible that I've been lucky; but it's also possible that they train this tier of CSR better than for their more entry-level products...

It's also possible that they just don't think enough time has elapsed and/or that your credit score has improved enough to be making you a better offer on your rate. I say give them time. I bet at the very least, they'll both start bombarding you with teaser offers soon. Call them up and pester them for a lower rate when that happens.

BTW, If you're not using your account, the interest rate really doesn't matter... especially not if you're just paying it in full every month.
