Cynical miscreants?

Speck, care to explain your description?

Cynical: Staging "town hall meetings" with hand-picked audiences, attempting to manage news with one's own fake "reporter", "putting money in (our) pocket" with tax cuts while proposing to steal it right back from our children and grandchildren, stringing together half-truths and wishes as a premise to war, declaring "Mission Accomplished!" while continuing to send America's sons and daughters to battle with insufficient armor, the wrong kind of training, and no end in sight, while Osama bin Laden remains at large...

Miscreant: Using the tragic plight of a dying woman and her family to appease one's political base, preaching a "culture of life" while rationalizing torture and standing in the way of crucial stem-cell research, misleading one's friends for one's own ends, pledging one's service to the country then skipping out when such service becomes inconvenient...

I see Jimmy Carter as one who understands his oath to the people of this country and his reponsibility to the world. I see him as one who continues to try to make the world a better place while understanding his limitations and learning from his mistakes. Unfortunately, from my point of view, those seem to be rare qualities in this administration.

Best,

Speck
