If Clinton had bumbled through his responses to Wally, wingnutz would have had a field day clamoring about how he (Clinton) had finally been held accountable and praising Wally for his fine work. Since Clinton took Wally to task in a fact-filled and articulate manor, the wingnutz have taken to wailing that Clinton walked in with a prepared speech. But let us indulge the wingnutz in their fantasies and pose a very simple question, "So what if he did?"It seems like Faux News has almost from the beginning positioned itself not as a "fair and balanced" purveyor of the news -- or even of opinion -- but of one committed to a particular cut of political cloth. Indeed, one gets the impression that the very same quote Faux would pillory a Democrat for would instead be praised as an enlightened, forward thinking statement if made by a Republican. That being said, let's return to the question of "So what if he did?" No person of right mind would have purposefully entered the Faux spin-storm without purposefully asking himself, "What is the lowliest thing that I can expect them to do?" and prepare accordingly. So on the wild chance that wingnutz fantasies are correct, bravo for President Clinton if he was armed with answers. On the other hand, if President Clinton answered in a spontaneous manner, a double bravo for President Clinton for in that one exchange he exuded more intellect, cogent thought, and articulation than our current President has ever expressed.TDeF
