Give you a idea of what the young kids listen to in Indonesia besides western music....Dangdut seems to be a very risque music in Indonesia. Women Dangdut dancers can be just as wild on stage sometimes, especially since Indonesia is a little more conservative than the west.

I actually like Dangdut music but it might not be to certain people's taste's. Dangdut appears to be a sort of fusion of several different styles of music:

"Dangdut is a genre of Indonesian popular music that is partly derived from Malay, Arabic, and Hindustani music. It developed in the late 1960s and 1970s among working-class Muslim youth in Java, but beginning in the late 1990s reached a broader following in lower class Indonesians[1], Malaysia, and the southern Philippines.[2][3]

A dangdut band typically consists of a lead singer, male or female, backed by four to eight musicians. Instruments usually include a tabla, mandolin, guitars, and synthesizers.[4] The term has been expanded from the desert-style music to embrace other musical styles.[2] Modern dangdut incorporates influences from Middle Eastern pop music, Western rock, house music, hip-hop music, contemporary R&B, and reggae.[2][5]

Dangdut got a peak in the 1990s and in 2012, Dangdut mostly popular in the western parts of Indonesia and not in the eastern parts, aside from Maluku."

Dangdut artists sometimes run afoul of the Islamic religious conservatism of the hardcore fringe groups in Indonesia......almost to the point where some want the music banned. Judge for yourself:
