All Datek on line did was send the IRS info on all my sales of securities. I have to sort through mountains of info to piece together the cost basis. Is this the price you pay for using a discount broker? I'm asking if anyone else has had trouble putting together and matching all commissions and fees and buys so the IRS doesn't think I have just sold all this stock for pure profit? Datek is no help. They said that most people are working it out themselves. My accountant can't believe it. H e says you better find yourself a different provider. I get a lot of Motley Fool literature from Datek, thus I thought this would be a good place to start. Maybe the IRS would have some answers. Thanks in advance.
