You are CORRECT ! Gift didn't have a receipt.
Unfortunatly, not teens - young adults at the store. Certainly manager wasn't a teenager. My experience at PacSun was not pleasant.
GAP - no problem. Hollister - no problem. Quicksilver - no problem.
All gifts - no receipts. I got gift credits at all.
In - out - fast!...we'll be back when we have time to shop. See you!

It was the silly "too much information" given by the salesclerk - and the whole repeat to manager - REFUSAL - then "ok then..." that was not pleasant. Made me have to "complain". Wouldn't you? If the end result is to placate, why didn't the manager just do it the first time around? That was the problem...

PacSun does have problems. In all the gift "credit" exchanging, their store was the one with maybe 3 or 4 shoppers. All others had way more - shopping and and in line. I was the only one at register at PacSun, while having to wait maybe 4 or 5th in line at other stores.

One "hit" that PacSun has going now is their fragrances - many girls love them. One teen "screamed" when she opened it, another was happy (birthday). But in looking for that birthday present, I was dismayed - many hooks and shelves with many of same items. Store looks stocked - but with very little selection.

Just my "shopping" experience....
