Anyone know of any additional deductions allowed to new widows? My husband died unexpectedly in late April of this year and I can tell ya, death ain't cheap. Is there any way to take deductions for the funeral, plots, marker and all the other costs associated with his burial? I know it sounds tacky, but by the time you are through, you've spent thousands upon thousands at a time you can least afford it. So, does Uncle Sam help ya out in any way?
