We're enjoying excellent weather, desert walks with plants, critters, birds and views in southern New Mexico--and the cute town of Truth or Consequences.

Minor new mishap-- our Lacrosse Technologies "atomic clock" died and we need to replace it (new batteries no help). I don't so much miss the clock as we have cell phones, but I miss the inside temperature, day/date, and phase of the moon. The latest model of this clock includes the outside temp as well--'course we'll have to figure out where and how to install the probe for that feature.

Another minor prob--the pilot light for the oven isn't working so I cant use the oven. I use it so rarely, maybe it rusted/corroded. It was hard to light the only two times I used it this trip. Just to make crustless quiche. Any repair thoughts?

I'm more of a stovetop cook. Tonight, sautéed rainbow chard and jalapeno-lime salmon burgers. The chard was supposed to have been for quiche, though!
