So the vet says that our poor cat probably only has about 3 weeks to live. Of course, this is the same vet who only gave him 6 months to live 11 years ago so you never know. I posted about him once here.

(Zoui is our very own A.I. for those playing at home.)

Dinky has never been a friendly cat. My wife so wanted a lap cat, and when we first got him, he would go nowhere near us. I told her to give him time and he would eventually mellow out and become a lap cat. Sure enough, 12 short years later he would crawl into her lap.

He was never mean. Well, he didn't start a fight (though he had a very pecular and cat-like idea of what constituted a fight). If you left him alone, he would leave you alone. He just liked to curl up by us (but not touching us!) and take a nap or perhaps a noisy bath.

He was a beautiful sleek gray cat, and now he is a little scrawny and his fur is a little rough and he limps a bit, but he still comes upstairs and watches t.v. with us and if it's quiet and the kids are in bed he will crawl in Mrs. Lock's lap.

So anyway, we need to have a talk with the kids and prepare them. I'm not sure how, but I don't know how much time I have so I need to think of something.
