Hi Everyone,

Last month I set up a Revokable Trust for my family. This month, I am in the process of funding my Trusts by changing the title of my accounts to the name of my Trust.

One of my accounts is the discount broker Sharebuilder. They have informed me that they cannot change the title of my account to the name of my Trust. It is something they are not set up to do as a discount broker.

I really like Sharebuilder, but it looks like I will have to transfer my assets to another broker. Does anyone have a discount broker that they recommend that will allow an account to be set up in the name of the Trust?

You might try posting your question on the Discount Brokers board--

or on the Estate Planning board--

Don't know what you are looking for in terms of discount brokers, but I have trust accounts at TD Ameritrade, Vanguard, and E-Trade. I expect Scottrade will also do trust accounts as I have an investment club account there.

I have not run into a broker yet that won't do a trust account, and I'm not sure why Sharebuilder can't handle it as it doesn't change much for them.

I have a Scottrade account titled in the name of a trust. I would suspect that the majority of brokers can do so.
