Discover surely wants the cancelled checks so they don't have to call you and beg you for more money. One payment is nothing, but three is a good start for these guys. With a voided check, they can call you and bully you into authorizing another check.Personally, I experienced this with Citibank. Request a statement in writing how many payments are required, when they will be taken, etc.Further, don't believe any promises that they will give you the card back when it's all said and done. The collection agent will tell you whatever it takes to convince you to pay, and pay quickly. Paying it is a good idea, but don't go too far.Good Luck...- Bill D. in Phila, PA
