I have a question for everyone, I have a ROTH IRA with Primerica with a little over $3,000 in it over 17.367 shares. They are in LARGE CAP EQUITY/ AGRESSIVE BOND. I got this while I was in the Navy. I paid $100 a month into it. I got out of the Navy in 2006 and have not paid a dime since. I was looking into taking the money out and investing into DIVIDEND INCOME STOCKS. Is this a good idea??? I would like to get a 2nd income besides my job and a part time job. But I am not 100% sure how they honestly work. I went on SCOTTTRADE'S page and basically any dividend money that is made has to do back in any dividend stock you choose. If you want to cash out you have to close your account...does this sound right or is this the norm??? How do dividends work if you can not actually take out some of the money for yourself? Please any and all info is greatly needed.
