Divorce is a cornerstone of liberalism, aimed at atomizing human relationships, especially marriage, the most powerful of all.

Divorce enables people to move on, sometimes with other partners, after their marriage has failed. I guess conservatives prefer to make people continue to live in misery.

Destroying marriage reduces the ability of mfamilies to have independent value schemes

huh?

and reduces the ability of governmwent to impose the political agenda of elites on ordinary people.

Uh, are you saying this is a good thing or a bad thing?

It also greatly weakens people financially, socially and morally

My divorce strengthened both me and my ex financially--he married into a a wealthier family and stands to inherit a great deal very soon despite an iffy career and a non-working wife, and I was able to get a good-paying full-time job, something my ex was opposed to.

and healps create demand and consumers for government welfare plans, which adds to the ability of government to control people.

Divorce for any reason or no reason at all have been one of the most succesful ways devised by government to weaken and impoverish people and create greater dependence on government.

The only time I was on food stamps was *during* my first marriage.

I expect gay marriage to conntribute to further that political agenda.

I bet you do.
