Do they really have these Lenny? Um....why?Egg vending machines. I guess so people can buy fresh eggs without having to go to the store. Someone fills it once a day and they seem to sell pretty well. Vending machines are all over the place here. I live in a residential neighborhood and there is a vending machine about half a block away. This one just sells coke and coffee. They have beer vending machines (where were these when I was 19), all sorts of food ones, and even underwear machines(I saw this is Tokyo). The funniest thing about the whole vending machine thing is you will be in a remote area, in the middle of nowhere and you will come across a vending machine on the side of the road. Nothing for miles...but a single coke vending machine....and the power to run it.One of the nice things I find about many of the newer machines in Japan is that the have tray that you just throw a glob of change from your pocket or purse into. The money is sorted and counted, giving you a total. Then you buy what you want..assuming you had enough change in the first place. None of this one coin at a time stuff here :-)Lenny...roving Japanese culture reporter :-)
