Do you agree with the Citizens United decision by the SCOTUS? If so, you're probably outraged by the IRS scandal. If not, you probably think the IRS did nothing wrong... because they were doing exactly what you wanted them to do: undermining the law of the land as decided by Citizens United

That's a very strange article. Basically it blames "some people" described as "the reform community" and "a powerful group" for pressuring the IRA "to go after" (c)(4) groups after Citizens United. But there's no evidence that such a shadowy powerful group even exits. It's just a boogeyman of the writer's imagination.

Here's the thing: not one single conservative organization was harmed or even inhibited by this. (If you disagree, name one. Say how they were damaged.) If this was some kind of conspiracy to mess with Obama's political opponents, not only did it not work, it couldn't have worked as "designed."

You ought to read the IG's report. There's a link in this article about the "scandal" in Forbes, not exactly a bastion of left-wing Obama-love.

As for O decrying the shenanigans in Cincinnati and "firing" the acting IRS commissioner, that's not "selling out" his defenders. It's pure political expediency. Surprise. He's a politician. Worse, he's a Democratic politican. They admit and apologize for mistakes they didn't even make. Silly, but not as bad as Republican politicians who never admit their mistakes and who tend to double-down on them instead.
