Do you know what happened to your ex after you separated?

Not Joel, but I do know some of it.

When they divorced, he agreed to give her money for the settlement. She instructed him to pay the money directly to pay off her debts, which he did. There was some left over, so it was put into an 'emergency fund' for her. So she left the marriage not only debt-free, but with some money in a savings account and should have been able to support herself with her teaching degree.

However, within 3 - 4 years of being divorced, she ended up defaulting on a mobile home that she had purchased, and apparently other debts she had run up, too. I know this because when I answered the collection calls looking for her on Joel's phone number, they often assumed I was her until I set them straight.

She's now married to someone else, and not sure if her habits have continued, but I got a collection call for her as recently as 2 months ago.
