Do you need the money? If so, then it's in the best interest of your children to get it. If you don't, then don't waste your precious energy on fighting with someone you don't like

I have to disagree here. He is the father, and whether you "need" the money or not is completely irrelevant. It is the child's money, and if you do not need it, put it toward a college fund. It is also not relevant whether you "like" your ex or not. Again, it's the child's money. Fight for it!!!!
