doctors , per hour, don't make all that much.....unless you happen to be the world's best neurosurgeon or similar.....

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median pay for a physician in 2010 was about 166K/year. Considering that this would include physicians practicing in areas of the contry that have a low standard of living, it seems like a respectable income to me.

You didn't whine about Steve Jobs becoming a gazillionaire, along with Bill Gates and warren Buffet and those Hollywood 'stars' and sports stars? hmmm...I wonder why

Well, it didn't seem appropriate for the topic. But since you asked, I don't really have a problem with Jobs, Gates and Buffett amassing great wealth. The first two were visionaries who helped shape modern society. And Buffett's philantropy is very impressive.

I DO have a problem with superstar athletes getting ridiculous compensation. But that's because I was brought up in a generation in which this was not the case. And it seems to me that the professional athletes of my era, in general, deserved respect and admiration more so than the current crop.

Jack the progressive: "Or the morbitity and mortality associated with the epidemic of obesity?"

that's actually medically related..... but if he wants to discuss the color of my curtains, the length of my curtains, whether i have baby proofed the electric outlets, vacuumed the floor every other day, use Brand XYX baby food, washed my clothes in Tide.....that's going too far.

If your doctor is asking THOSE questions I'd suggest that you find someone else.

Jack
