Does anyone know, on an ETF, if the holding period start date of the reinvested div new shares falls on the ex-dividend date, like an open-ended fund. Or the date payable? The date paid. The only reason an open-ended fund holding period starts on the ex-dividend date is because that is also the payable date. So the holding period for either kind of fund starts on the payable date. --Peter
