Does it make sense to borrow from a 401(k)? That depends upon the circumstances. Well, if your crystal ball is working, borrowing from your 401k is a nice hedge against a bear market. I wish I'd borrowed about $200k in late 2007, lol. Assuming you keep the borrowed funds to repay the loan, you preserve capital, and add extra funds in the form of interest.
