Doesn't seem like there's much of a consensus as to which is the best sock. We need a Consumer Reports article or something. = )

Agreed! Of course we're all living in different parts of the country (world for me) and have access to different stores, brands selections, etc. I think that makes finding a unanimous sock pretty difficult.

As simple as this thread was, I really enjoyed it. So much so that I hit up REI Online and ordered 3 different pairs of socks in an effort to further my quest for the "superior sock."

Not sure if it's more of the feel or functionality, look, moisture wicking qualities....etc...but I do know that when the cotton socks come off and the running socks go on, there is a mental switch goes off and starts putting me in run mode.

Cheesy, I know, but certainly worth $12 a pair to me.
