Thanks for confirming why I've never p-boxed you even when I felt (quite peevishly) vexed -- you're a good smart informed guy and civil to boot!

I've now bookmarked DemocracyNow in my folder of morning reads. I'll keep checking it out.

If you have not seen it let me recommend to you,

an outlet of international progressive intelligence with a list of contributors such that every week I am always both exhilarated and infuriated.

(my sweet tough mom insisted that my sibs and I [partial list] learn to high speed touch-type, launder mend and iron shirts, diagram Shakespearean sentences [Hamlet's soliloquy!], sew/hem with double & blind & lock stitches, plant and prune trees, select cheap and then rub/marinade and roast to exactly medium-rare huge rich cuts of meat, stalk wildlife to close-up camera range [her prerequisite for our starting to hunt], become an Eagle Scout [skipping the 'cheap' merit badges as she was 'on to that' and then happily welcoming my rejection by the Board of Review when I refused to affirm belief in God as I claimed that would be idolatry], make all women age 7 and up feel like they were Queen Elizabeth in the presence of Raleigh AND Josephine Baker in the presence of Jean Lion [my one sister exempted of course], and (hardest to this day) never ever to leave bedroom in the morning without rejoicing to be alive another day "so that all around you will see and take heart.")
(She left street fighting, hunting and dressing out, hard sciences, most moral wrestling especially the endurance of hardships, sex education in embarrassing details, and mountaineering, to my dad.)

(Still grieving tough sweet Dad. After I came out to him he gathered himself, and then tearfully said "I hate it that I hate it -- HATE it -- that you're gay," and then over 18 months got over that and became a proud fierce spokesperson for gay rights.)
(Starting recently I've been slowly reluctantly saying good bye to fading Mom and that goodbye will never stop)
