All kidding aside, I've been to Uruguay several times on Business trips. The climate is great, and the people are very warm.

Costa Rica is another place. It's in the tropics, but you can live in the central mountains at an altitude of five thousand feet or more, so it's no more hot and buggy than, say, Northern California. And there, too, the people are very nice. They are used to Americans, as there has been an American expatriate community there for a long time.
