Don't mean to be dense but how is an intelligent origin more supernatural than a nonintelligent origin?

An intelligent origin is something outside of creation that brings everything into existence. A non-intelligent origin (I take this to mean that some physical law started it) is part of nature but the origin of the universe marks the beginning of time and space.

Both intelligent and nonintelligent exist in the natural universe. Therefore, both are natural. Origin hypotheses postulate some thing (X) caused the natural universe. I don't see why X being intelligent should be more supernatural than X being nonintelligent.

The intelligent things in the universe exist within the universe. An intelligent creator would not. A non-intelligent cause could be a physical law that is eternal but occurs in nature.

In other words, complexity in this case is defined by the number of steps required, not the amount of information contained. In other, other words, no preference is given to a low information explanation over a high information one.

I agree. A supernatural explanation requires more steps as I explained.
