Doug

Everytime I see that chart I think it is giving me the finger.

I was at ABI at the time (not any more) and had a few options in both CRA and ABI. I didn't get rich, but I did make money. I also had an employee stock purchase plan.

I put ~ $500 into CRA via the ESPP plan in just one quarter, and by the time I got the stock in the account it was worth ~$6800 (not bad for $500 and 3 months time). I sold, but it doubled again in something like 6-7 days. It was a very strange time (and not the most productive honestly - too many people just watching the stock all day).

As for the options, most of them I let go too early to put a down payment on a house - but by 2001, the house purchase looked pretty good.

I know only one guy who nailed the timing (he was lucky, not privy to any special info) and far too many that held all the way down and couldn't grasp that it was never worth the hype.
