Hi - This year I sold a DRIP that I've had since the 80's. I don't have statements before 1995 and the company doesn't have them either. How do I handle this on my taxs since I cannot figure an accurate basis?

Thanks for any guidance.

Not the best situation, but zero basis up to 1995, then start stock basis for all DRIP purchases from 1995 forward.

If you have the original purchase, then the dividend amounts and price on the date invested(from historical sites like yahoo), you may be able to do better than that.
