I am looking into Drips and I would appreciate any help with a source that might list companies that do it along with their phone numbers and costs if any from the companies. I understand that most companies might not even charge you to join their program. I also did not know if I should just buy a few shares of a couple companies from a place like Sharebuilder who advertises $4 shares so I could keep my costs down when I buy the shares from a couple companies to get started. Since my knowledge is low on this my understanding was some companies might let you buy direct from them for little or no fee.
My goal was to get into at least three to four companies and see how it goes. I was told with the stocks being low now would also be a good time to get in. I guess after you get in you can have a certain amount taken out of a checking saving, etc from each company monthly. I am new to this so any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
