I am frustrated with figuring out my cost basis and hence am setting up this scenario based on a statement and partial dividend reinvestmend history: Buy 300 shares XYZ on 5/21/00 $38.165/share Buy 200 shares XYZ on 6/18/00 $38.995/share Dividend issued 6/18/00 0.040 share reinvested transaction amount: $1.55 (price:$38.995) Note: although there were no fees/commissions posted on any optional cash payment confirmations...on the quarterly statement under fees paid by company, $0.42 appeared. Similar charges appear on only the quarterly statements. I use Quicken 2000 and I don't know how to incorporate this fee to get an accurate cost basis. Now after 4 years, I transferred 100 shares to a broker and they sold a fractional share (.666/share at $61.563/shr with gross proceeds of $41.00. I have saved all of my statements and data is entered into the Quicken program but I can't account for these fees. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
