That's the good part. There are no fees over the mutual fund expenses (which are very low for the index funds:

Custodian's Fees

There currently are no annual fees that will be charged to you for establishing or maintaining your TIAA-CREF Funds Traditional or Roth IRA. Further, there currently are no sales or other charges associated with the purchase or redemption of shares of any TIAA-CREF Funds portfolio in which your IRA is invested. However, investors in the Funds do pay expenses for investment management services provided to the Funds. Before investing, be sure to read carefully the current prospectus for the TIAA-CREF Funds for a description of the Funds' expense charges.
