Hi folks, this is my first time posting on this board. In an effort to live well, yet stay in budget, I am attempting to find a DVR that I can use in place of the DVR that died a few months back. A TIVO box or one that I can get from my cable company comes with a monthly fee, and I'd like to avoid that. Is this even possibe?

OK, the one I used to have would record to a DVR disc & was not programmable & was not HD. I'd prefer one with an internal hard drive, but this is not a requirement. I'd like one that can be programmed to begin recording while I am away from the house, and also will record in HD. Oh, and I'd like the price to be $225 or less. Any suggestions for me?
