Singapore SingTel In E-Commerce Pact With Global Sources Wednesday, October 4, 2000 01:49 AM SINGAPORE (Dow Jones)--Singapore's largest telecommunications provider Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. (P.SGT, news, msgs) said Wednesday it has signed an electronic-commerce pact with Hong Kong-based Global Sources (GSOL, news, msgs), an e-commerce solutions provider Under a three-year contract, SingTel Internet Exchange, or Singtel IX, will host all Global Sources' 34 portals including those in Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand and Mexico. Global Sources has also chosen SingTel as its total information and communications partner in Singapore. SingTel IX is a unit of SingTel and is one of the largest Internet exchanges in the Asia Pacific region. It currently provides Internet access to nearly 70 Internet Service Providers in over 30 countries in the region. It also operates two electronic-content centers in Singapore to provide services to companies who want to outsource hosting of their mission-critical Internet operations.
