Elinof asks:

I want to start withdrawl from ira this year. Please help me locate the calculator tool (I saw the tool 2yrs ago, but now can't locate it) or simply inform me as to what assumed rate of return to use. age 56, life expectancy 27 yrs, target amount 6% of the last year end of balance

Because you are younger than age 59 1/2, it sounds as if you wish to start substantially equal periodic payments (SEPP) to avoid paying an early withdrawal penalty on anything taken from your IRA or retirement plans. You will find an excellent calculator for making those computations at the Retire Early Home Page at http://www.geocities.com/WallStreet/8257/wdraw59.html. Be sure to read the introductory material to that calculator before you start taking withdrawals so you understand all the implications involved in that action.
