Are you out there retirees? I am soooooooo close to 65 and I have been totally retired since I was 58. Not rich, not poor. In 1990 my net worth and my personal life were right at zilch. I got a new life, I got a new wife and I got in the market at the right time. And fortunately I managed to make a lot more in the 90s than I have managed to lose in this decade. This year has been a particularly bad one from an investment point of view but a fantastic year to be alive and well. Anyway I decided that I needed to shake things up a little so I joined the Fool by way of 'Hidden Gems'. I'm just dipping my feet in the water a little. Tom Gardner, not a close personal friend, not even a casual aquaintance, suggested a reading list for his subscribers and that suggestion alone has been worth the price of admission. So far I have re-read 'One up on Wall Street', read 'Value Investing with the Masters' and am now reading 'Buffet, The Making Of An American Capitalist'. That is more books than I have read in 15 years. A rediscovered joy!Four years ago we built a new house out here in the middle of 40 acres. I've got a den of foxes in my yard. That would be nine pups, or kits, plus at least three adult foxes. I have humming birds, blue birds, martins, turkey, cardinals, gold finch, a blue herron and 10 steers wandering or flying around this place. And I have my lovely wife and my best buddy, Romeo DuLac. Romey is a 12 year old Maltese dog. They are my two best investments. So what's going on with you Retiree? Are you making any money? Are you having any fun?
