Besides mutual funds are there any other ways to get into emerging markets w/o getting the tax hit you typical get from mutual funds? I've long avoided mutual funds because I got tired of paying the capital gains they tended to generate in both up and down years.

Are ETFs better?

Most of my money is in non-taxable accounts but a chunk is not and I'd like to get more international exposure.
