Killing a cancer cell from the inside out

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Switzerland's ETH Zurich have found a way to program cells to determine whether they have become cancerous, and if they have, to order their own suicide.

Pretty neat approach using the RNA signature of individual cancers to trigger their own demise. Although the research was focused on cancer, the approach is equally promising as a general technology for any disease-state.
