epends on the country. Here in England, either card is accepted usually at
places that accept cards. I know in Germany that one of them wasn't accepted
except rarely, but I can't remember which one it was that I used to use when I
was there.

Here in germany some years ago Eurocard was much more spread than Visa, whereas now you can pay with Eurocard or Visa everywhere.

A difference could be that here ein D some Visa Cards don't give you any credit, i.e. the money you spent is electronically taken from your account just two or three days later. This is the case of my Visa, which I received in a package with my incredibly cheap bank account (ca. 5 $ /Month, all inclusive, Visa Too).

It is clear that this is not a CC anymore, but only a way of electronic payment where other opportunities fail (e.g. motorway toll in Italy).
That's the reason why I have a wonderful, cost free Amex Blue, with up to 5 weeks credit before you pay the first penny in interest (which I, faithful to my name, never do...).
