Even better is deciding where the "hey, I didn't think I'd get that much bonus money on this paycheck" goes rather than knowing it HAS to go to some delinquint bill.

Yep. A year ago, there were times I knew I HAD to make X number of dollars with my eBay sales simply to catch up. Before the money could be transfered from Paypal, the check would be in the mail to whichever CC was due next.

Now, the eBay money is "extra" money to be snowballed or to take care of those extra expenses that pop up (like this past month). And I didn't watch as closely as I should have and some of the money I could have snowballed got nickel & dimed away needlessly.

But it's just so much better than before. That net worth figure in Quicken is still a negative red number but it's getting smaller and smaller each pay period.

It may be slow progress but it's reassuring to know we are making progress.
