Ditto. My son is intelligent but not geared for classroom courses with no immediate practical application. He did great when he had to take classes to be certified to install medical gas lines, though.

When he described being present when the main oxygen system for the new Duke Cancer Center was turned on for the first time, and how it felt to have helped build the system that lives would depend on...he was as least as proud as he would have been over being handed a diploma. He'll never have to worry about his job being sent overseas and the pay scale is quite good.

He's even learning "construction Spanish", so there's the foreign language piece, too :-)
