So my girlfriend has chosen to stop funding her employers 401K. Shes doing this because they don't offer any choices, (she gives her $900 a month and hopes for the best) and there seems to be little in the way of re-balancing. Also, 80/20 is fine for some, but not all employees want that kind of stock/fixed weighting. And with no on-line way to monitor her 401K she want's out. She'll not cash it out of course..just stop funding it.

So...She wont be able to put that amount of $ away in a traditional IRA annually...any other pre-tax ideas?
