Good morning,

ZDNet today announced its expansion into Latin America through a syndication business model. ZDNet has formed syndication agreements with five leading Latin American Internet portals, which will prominently feature a range of ZDNet's information and services, tailored to meet the increasing business and personal technology needs of the exploding Latin American market.

ZDNet has signed syndication agreements with Globo, iG-Internet Gratis, Patagon, StarMedia, and Terra. Created by ZDNet's Miami-based Latin American staff of more than 30 multi-lingual IT and editorial professionals, the syndicated content will be published in Spanish and Portuguese under the ZDNet America Latina and ZDNet Brasil brands respectively, and will feature a range of original and translated information from popular ZDNet channels including News, Reviews, Help and How-To, Downloads and GameSpot.

Latin America currently has more than 14.5 million Internet users, a number that is expected to grow to 47 million by 2003. As one of the world's fastest growing Internet markets, the region's online ad spending is expected to grow to more than $1.4 billion by 2003 with ecommerce spending projected to reach $10.2 billion (Chase H&Q). Through its relationships with top portals, ZDNet is poised to quickly become a leading provider of technology information and services to Latin America.
