Here we hope to answer some questions you might have, and to provide some links to some other sources of desireable knowledge. If you come across a link to a viable source, please let us know because I don't think it's possible to fill your head with too much of the wisdom presented by Artist/Author/Creator/Genius Bill Waterson in this most deceptively simple format that was and still is Calvin and Hobbes.

First of all:
What does M.C.S. mean?
why, Marching (and) Chowder Society, of course!

Here's some Cool links:(in no particular order, of course)

Calvin and Hobbe's Magical World

(has some cool motion in it!)

(Calvin and Hobbes Unplugged)

(Rorster's strip of the day)

one more link...
provided by my co-conspirator in setting up this board, Station9:

How to make a G.R.O.S.S. hat:

I'm hoping to add more in the future...this of course will depend on you, the Friends of Calvin and Hobbes and Members of the MCS.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The "Calvin and Hobbes Font":
Did you know there's a downloadable font that will let you read 'n write in "Calvinese"? (HUHHH???)
yep, www.sharkshock.com in the fonts/ periodicals/comics dept. there resides a free downloadable zip file that you really NEED! ;0)
Download then open into My Computer/Program Files/Windows/Fonts.
It'll then allow you to read Calvinese on your browser and read and write it in your e-mail program.
If you don't have a zipper/unzipper, you can download it there, free, too...(It's an evaluation version that seems to work forever ;0))
Mac users...I dunno .....(sorry, I'm hoping you know how to do it...:0)
The only gripe I have with the font is that it doesn't include parentheses or ampersands (of which I'm quite fond), but I reckon Calvin didn't use those thangs ennyway when he had Hobbes forge notes for him huh?
So, it all comes down to:
Whaddayou think?
What does Calvin and Hobbes mean to you?
Has this "simple comic strip" changed your way of thinking over the years, motivated, inspired you, or just given you a chuckle?
Or do you not quite "get it"?
I think this could be a really great place (board wise) it's you that'll make the difference
Thanks!
