I wish there was a FAQ for this board so I wouldn't have to ask this question. Anyway, here's the question.If you buy 200 shares of "A" stock @ $50=$10,000then you sell 100 shares of "A" stock @ $100=$10,000I let the other 100 shares run, are there taxes on your original contribution since you show no profit or gain?If you sold 100 shares of "A" stock @$80 ($8,000), how does that tax scenario work out.? loss?I'm sure this was asked before. Thanks for answers.
