These are not for the faint of heart but page 52 is a chart of divisors that are more liberal (leaves more $ in your account)than present instructions.

Let's hope that Pixy will digest this for us before the 1 April due date.


LOL. I agree the regs aren't the easiest thing to read. And the chart is nothing more than the MDIB table that currently appears in Appendix E of IRS Publication 590.

I'll have a Special column on the proposed regs appearing sometime next week when the editors get through with it. All in all, it looks like a superb planning opportunity for those with large IRAs. And for those already taking distributions after age 70 1/2, they now have an opportunity to correct any mistakes they may have made in the method they're using. IMHO it's a huge step in the right direction on making a complicated issue relatively simple for all.
