The Canadian Radio Act requires that "a licenser may not broadcast....any false or misleading news." The provision has kept Fox News out of Canada.

Also the HuffPo and others likely.

BUt...90% of all Canadians live within 70 miles of the border and can get US TV stations. Their cable systems carry the US channels.

No need for FOX to have transmitters IN Canada. It can serve most of it from outside.

Sounds like "Radio Free Europe" in the good old days.

Just another way that Canada manages to vacuum diversity out of the socialist state it has created. Stalin would not be surprised.

If you live in Canada, you have a Canadian cable system. And while you have access to American television stations, they do not "broadcast" Fox News, it is a cable service.

Do you understand anything?

However many Canadian cable systems do carry Fox News, while many others do not. It s not as popular there, probably owing to the fact that so much of its coverage is of the US, and also that Canadians are smarter. ;)

Apparently, it is you that don't 'understand' things.

The US and Canada have an agreement along the border of which channels are used by the US and which by the Canadians.

If you go to Detroit, there is a FOX News station. Within 60 miles of Detroit there are millions of Canadians that can tune in FOX News

If you go to Buffalo, there are millions and millions of Canadians that get the Buffalo Fox news station.

Same for WAshington STate.

All along the Canadian border are US stations ..including FOX.

Yes, likely Canadians aren't all that interested in US news.....but most of them probably have access to Fox News direct or on cable systems. Just like we don't watch Canadian News..even though you can watch it on the internet.

We do have BBC news here in TX...and some places carry Al Jazeera......

Of course, if you live in Quebec...you might only speak French....so that also limits any US station's appeal..or any US news source not also broadcast in French.

You got Fox News all along the border.....Potsdam NY...Burlington VT....etc....

No. There is a Fox TV affiliate, which carries entertainment programming and has a local news operation just like most other television stations in the country. Their newsrooms are not run by Roger Ailes, they have no segments of Hannity, O'Reilly, Fox and Friends, or anything else from "Fox News." The station is run by News Corp and carries The Simpsons, X Factor, Glee, some football games and so on. "Fox News" is a cable product, and is not available on over-the-air stations.

No, no, and no. Those are News Corp affiliates, which do not broadcast "Fox News."
